The question can artists still play the role of trailblaser in a connected world ?

The answer is yes.

Take for example The World Team who represent thirty eight members from around the world. The record held to date is four hundred skydivers connected at two thousand four hundred feet in the air for four point two seconds. This amazing event was organized by the Royal Thai family and is an exemplified service to modern art and the expression of the universe as it reaches new heights as one world.

In spirit we can all be trailblazers at some given point in our lives but The World Team deserves a medal do you think ?

Art is a powerful tool and an International language. This language can express, reflect, announce, make known, unify, bring together, support, up build, encourage, share, care for, show compassion and kind feelings toward all. In two words Art is to LOVE.

As I have stated in my artist statement, art is a manifestation of love, loving people and nature. When an artist loves his/her surrounding/country and emerges himself/herself in it, this would automatically convey the sincere message mentioned earlier.

Art conveys silent but powerful message to the world that reflects a culture, history, civilization and the artist's Country. Through art a character of a Country can stands out among other nations. I believe that serious and sincere artists can have an important roll leading to an advanced society.

Why I have chosen to use “serious and sincere artists” expression! A serious and sincere artist has a serious subject/goal to present his / her country through his/her art. A sincere artist works hard not for wealth, not for fame, not for recognition (although we all love to have it once in a while) but he/she would peruses their subject regardless of the short term result. Short term result is when an artist only creates artwork for the purpose of selling. Although an artist needs to make a living but does he/she only creates artwork of subjects that is only saleable to the media! A serious and sincere artist, who is full of enthusiasm, would think of subjects that reflect his country now and then even if his/her subjects are not saleable at present! Long term artwork will remain forever and stands for the artist's Country in the future. Yes, this kind of artist can play the roll of trailblazer in a connected world. Therefore, these kinds of artists would deserve recognition in their lives times and not later than that.

I would take the opportunity to express my gratitude to Her Excellency Mrs. Michaëlle Jean, to thank You for Your graciousness and efforts to supporting artists. I do hope that someday, I will have the privilege of meeting with Your Excellency, not to receive an award; I believe that they are many artists far ahead of me, but to give You a big hug and thank You, in person, for the beautiful spirit you possess that reflects our beautiful Country. We are proud of YOU.

Sincerely,

Mona Youssef

In reality we are all connected afterall... there are simply degrees of ego asleepness or essential awakeness that cloud or unveil the clear sky. So how does art fit into reality? It can reflect the essence of our being directly without words, or with words.

ART is not unlike pray.....expressing hopes and desires, joys and puzzlements, wonder and wisdom, vision and vitality. The art works in Rideau Hall "speak" all those voices.

My question is how to engage the Canadiana Fund in a dialogue of the works of art under their purview?????
